Kökar DiscGolfPark is a 12-hole disc golf course located on the island of Kökar in the southern archipelago of Åland, adjacent to Peders Aplagård, Finland’s southernmost apple farm.

Countess Island Källskär, Kökar

The boat ride goes through Kökar’s beautiful outer archipelago. Guided walk across the island of Källskär to Friherre Åkerhielm’s architect-designed log house and Mediterranean-inspired garden. From here you can see the horizon and the waves from the open sea hitting the rocks.

Kökar's hometown museum

At the Kökars museum you can see, learn and experience how the Kökars lived in the past. The museum is housed in the Österbygge-Hellsö old school from 1913 and was opened by Kökar Hembygdsförening in 1988.

Kökar's church

The church site has a long and partly difficult to interpret history, but is perhaps best known for the fact that one of the three Franciscan convents in medieval Finland was founded here. However, extensive excavations at the site suggest some kind of activity as early as the 13th century. The fact that the name Kökar is mentioned in the so-called The Danish itinerary from the end of the same century shows that the area – and then especially Hamnö – was already a well-known port location connected to important shipping routes.
